The Pathway
Connect
Fill out the form below to get the conversation started. We will give you a call shortly after to learn more about you and to answer any questions you may have about what starting a chapter could look like.
Agreement
Every chapter begins with a commitment to the Luke5 mission through a licensing agreement. At this point, we also encourage you to get insurance and nonprofit coverage in place to make sure your chapter is set on a strong foundation.
Team
No one starts a chapter alone! You'll build a team of supporters and volunteers, including a Leadership Team and Lead Sherpas. These individuals will help carry the vision forward and cheer you on as your chapter takes shape.
Fundraise
Next, you'll raise funds to purchase Rosie (our specialized hiking chair) and other essential equipment. This ensures your chapter is equipped to serve our hikers safely and properly.
Training
You and your team will go through Luke5Academy, our online training program. We'll also come to you to conduct in-person Lead Sherpa training so you can receive the hands-on experience.
Happy Hiking!
With your team, training, and equipment in place, you'll be ready to launch your chapter and start hiking! This is where the mission comes alive as you help families experience the impossible.

Let's Connect!
We would love to connect with you and discuss the next steps in this process.
We understand that it can seem overwhelming at first, but you don’t need to have it all figured out before reaching out.

Yes, you and/or your L5A Chapter Leadership Team are responsible for raising the funds necessary to start and sustain your chapter.
Not likely, nor recommended. As the saying goes, “It take a village to raise a child,” it takes a collaborative L5A Chapter Leadership Team to raise a L5A chapter.
Initially, Leadership Team members should anticipate on spending 4-6 hours per week. This amount will collectively increase as your chapter grows. On average, the collective time to complete the Introduction Phase and Initial Hiking Phase takes 3-6 months.
There are two main reasons:
1. Existing churches or ministries already have a 501c3 status and liability insurance in place so that makes it easier for initially beginning a chapter as it saves costs.
2. Families living with disabilities are oftentimes unchurched, so having a shared vision and community of believers as part of your chapter provides an avenue to connect your Hikers, Sherpas, and their families to local churches.
While there are lots, here are three reasons:
1. Seeing the smiles on the faces of your Hikers and their families and friends while they are enjoying being in places they would never be able to access on their own is so delightful and filled with extra-special memory-making moments!
2. Getting to be the hands and feet of Jesus and aid in quenching the spiritual thirst of your Hikers. Just like the four friends who had a friend living with palsy and did everything in their power to make certain their friend was placed directly in front of Jesus (Luke 5:19), your L5A Chapter does everything in its power to give its Hikers opportunities to be placed in front of God’s amazing creation.
3. Being a L5A Chapter has the benefit of being part of a “Luke5Adventures family of chapters” and taking advantage of our L5A home office’s countless hours of research, development, and coaching to aid you in establishing and sustaining your L5A Chapter.
